Webflow has released MCP 2.0, a major upgrade to the way AI tools connect to and work inside Webflow.
In short: AI can now do a lot more of the actual building, which means projects move faster.
Webflow's MCP lets AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT design, build and manage Webflow sites directly. This update goes further, letting agents build using your existing design system, components and CMS content, rather than just editing text here and there. It's available to all Webflow users at no extra cost.
We've been using Webflow's MCP internally for a while, mostly for content input and revisions.
“We're using it more and more on a daily basis, mainly for content input and revisions,” says Dominic, owner of Hobart web design and digital marketing agency Wakeford Digital. “This update looks like it can help with the build itself, and building quickly. That's an exciting prospect for delivering projects on time.”
The practical upshot for clients is simple. Tools like this help us build, iterate and refine sites in an increasing capacity, which means faster turnarounds and a better end result.
It's one of the reasons we build on Webflow, and part of what makes our web design work quicker to get live without cutting corners.
