Derwent River Big Swim had an existing website but needed a more professional, structured, and user-friendly experience. The key challenge was improving how swimmers learn about the event and, most importantly, how they enter. The site also needed better content management tools to support annual updates, swim history, and honour roll information, while retaining what already worked from the previous website.
View live project →The updated design delivers a clearer, more polished presentation that reflects the scale and importance of the event. Improved layout, spacing, and typography help communicate information more effectively without overwhelming users.
The website places strong emphasis on guiding visitors toward entering the event. Clear navigation, structured content, and prominent entry pathways make it easier for swimmers to understand their options and complete registration.
Zoho Forms were used to create a smoother, more efficient entry workflow. This reduced friction for participants while allowing the organisers to spend less time on manual admin and more time focusing on event planning and delivery.
Webflow CMS enables the client to manage swims, honour roll records, and ongoing updates with ease. This ensures the website remains current year after year without requiring technical input.
By working closely with Doug, the project retained the strongest elements of the original site while improving structure and usability. The result is a future-ready platform that supports ongoing growth and annual event updates.
